When we first started thinking about a styled shoot, we really just wanted to have fun. Working with other amazing event professionals at each wedding is a blessing, but when you get a dream team together and let their creative juices run wild, magic happens! A styled shoot is an opportunity to throw out expectations, experiment, and build a creative vision on your own. We really wanted to work with the best of the best and give them an opportunity to join us in the sandbox. We were so thrilled when they said, "Yes!" So take a look, scroll through, and see the magic in these photos and in the skill that everyone brought to the table!
We have worked at the Double Oaks Bed and Breakfast a few times this year, and we love everything about it! That's why, when discussing a styled shoot, it was our first choice and made a beautiful backdrop for us! The rich history and amazing details make it perfect for a wedding or event. We have fallen in love with every nook and cranny shooting them this year, and we love just getting lost in the rooms. The garden is exquisite, and we love the lush greens and light that flows through at sunset. The rooms are amazing; exactly the type of place we would love to spend an afternoon reading and drinking tea. And the claw-foot tub - oh my. Bubble bath paradise (and we have the photos to prove it)! This is quickly becoming one of our favorite places to be.
You may see Eliza at the Double Oaks on a Wine Wednesday or helping out here or there. She's kind of a part of the place in our minds, so she was the perfect model!
We've known Steven at Always and Forever Florist for several years. He's always the best choice for a bride who really wants something unique and different. Steven is so very passionate about what he does, and it shows in every design! We have marveled at his attention to details over the years and really just wanted to see his unbridled creativity at work on with this idea. He loved the aesthetic we were going for, and we adored the designs he brought to show off.
The Magnolia Bride is such a posh bridal boutique in Kernersville. Nicole provides top notch service and makes every bride feel like a princess! The dresses we borrowed were stunning! And her input was so helpful. She sized Elisa up during the fitting and knew exactly what she had that would flatter her and fit the style we were going for.
Easy Peasy has been our bakery of choice for several years. That cake and those precious little macaroons are so pretty (and tasty!)! And they are a joy to work with, or even just hang out with. And if you find yourself out and about and in need of a snack, you can't do better than one of their delicious stuffed cookies.
Julie's truffles are every chocolate lover's dream. She makes these little hemp-milk confections by hand in small batches! They are so rich and yummy! They are all delectable, but our favorite is definitely the bourbon. "Dark chocolate ganache infused with Knob Creek Bourbon, topped with smoked sea salt." Umm, yes, please! Check out Simply Scrumptious Truffles to get some for yourself!
Ashlyn from Concept Salon jumped in and helped from start to finish. She tackled Eliza's wild mane and provided her beautiful make-up. She didn't need a ton of direction, just some general input about the vibe we were going for, and the results were amazing! And she has a good eye for details. She helped with the photo session and was so fun and easy to work with.
