As we are celebrating our 15th year in business, we wanted to highlight several couples from the past 15 years who have made it such a joy to be in this industry. We are so thankful each day that we get to provide this service and document these special moments in your life!
We wanted to start off this series with Thaddaeus and Crystal!
They are celebrating 11 years of marriage this year! We were able to reach out and get some really good insight into what fuels their marriage and keeps them together.
What Date were you married?
Where were you married?
Clifton Road Baptist Church, Greensboro, NC
Tell us how you met
We met at The Christian Life Center, the church Thaddaeus was attending. Crystal was invited by a mutual friend to come and visit. Thaddaeus got Crystal's information since she was a visitor and he was in charge of follow-up for the church. Thaddaeus called Crystal to invite her to Bible Study but she couldn't make it (on September 11, 2007). She came to a Family & Friends event a weekend not long after that and she went out to eat with Thaddaeus, his immediate family, and some church family and thought he was cute (he thought she was cute too, of course). Thaddaeus continued to keep in contact with her throughout the week but realized immediately that he was behind the curve when she said the only way she really communicated was through text message. It was then that he made the decision to take the next step - he added text messages on his plan so he could keep in contact with her. They had a whirlwind romance that saw them getting engaged New Year's Eve that same year and married that next July.
How long did you date before you were married?
What is the one thing you remember most about your wedding day?
Besides our awesome pictures, Crystal remembers burning her hand with the wax from lighting the unity candle. Thaddaeus remembers going out to eat at Bravo's that night because we didn't really get to eat at the reception.
Is there something special that keeps you together?
Our relationship with Christ, our children, and our belief that we are definitely soulmates.
Do you have any advice for newlyweds?
Wait for children until you spend some good time getting to know each other more in an intimate space (at least a year). You also have to be very transparent about finances and debt - finances kill marriages sometimes.
